CA History and Mission

History

Community Accountants (CA) was incorporated in May 1974 to provide community-based organizations with accounting assistance. CA's founder, John Paul Dalsimer, established CA in response to his work in the community. He noted that while there were many groups with effective neighborhood programs, their lack of accounting and business skills put the programs in jeopardy.

Mission

CA provides pro bono accounting-related services through volunteers to help nonprofit organizations become self-sufficient. CA helps nonprofits handle their own financial records and reports effectively, therefore teaching the organizations to become financially self-sufficient. This allows the organizations to be more effective by eliminating financial management crises and reducing the time and resources needed to produce effective financial reports and statements.
